Goonhilly Earth Station is the largest satellite earth station in the world. Over the last 38 years the satellite dishes at Goonhilly have probably transmitted and received more notable events than any other around the world - from pictures of the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969 to pictures from the Olympic Games in Atlanta, USA in 1996. Covering more than two thirds of the Globe, the Earth Station simultaneously handles hundreds of thousands of international phone, fax, data and video calls.
A Visit to Goonhilly includes a guided tour of the site and entrance to our purpose built multimedia Visitors Centre. With interactive hands on displays; Live videophone links; Audio visual show; The Big Dish Cafe and gift shop.
